Chloé, can you tell us about your journey and Spices Wedding?
We are Chiara, Agathe, Pauline, Lilou, and Chloé — the team behind Spices Wedding, a wedding planning, design, and officiating agency based in France. People also call us the Spices Girls — our mission is to create unique, tailor-made weddings full of personality!
The Spices Wedding adventure was born from encounters and a shared passion. Each of us had experience in the wedding industry independently, organizing weddings in Paris, Bordeaux, and all over the world—from Portugal to Indonesia, Italy, and Costa Rica. After crossing paths many times, it became obvious: we shared the same values, the same energy, and, most importantly, the same desire to offer something different… A highly personalized, expert, caring, and fun experience driven by a collective spirit. A wedding is an adventure, and we wanted to make it as smooth and exciting as possible for our couples!
What motivated you to create Spices Wedding?
A spirit of sisterhood and a desire to break the mold—to add our own little “spice”! The wedding industry is full of emotions, creativity… and also pressure. Too often, we see couples stressed by the preparations, stuck in predefined models that don’t really represent them.
We wanted to bring a breath of fresh air to wedding planning, making the process smoother, more human, more flexible… yet still highly professional! And above all, we realized we were stronger together. Working in weddings can sometimes be lonely for vendors, so we decided to create a collective based on collaboration, support, and kindness.
Today, Spices Wedding feels like a group of ultra-organized friends who do everything they can to make your wedding an unforgettable celebration!

How should couples define their budget, and what are the key expenses?
Our first advice is to set priorities. What matters most to you? A breathtaking venue? Amazing food? An immersive decor?
To help couples plan, we always create an initial budget estimate after our first meeting, before going any further.
Here are some key expense areas to keep in mind:
- The venue: Often a big chunk of the budget, especially if it includes accommodation, which is in high demand.
- The caterer: Typically 30-40% of the total budget!
- The photographer: This is what remains after the wedding—timeless memories that should be chosen carefully… (Do you know Let’s Run To The Sun? 👀)
- Flowers and decor: Many people dream of lush floral arrangements, but this can be a costly aspect that’s often underestimated.
- Wedding attire: Often overlooked in estimates, but an essential part of the budget!
What advice would you give couples for choosing the right vendors (caterer, photographer, DJ…)?
First, look at their work—every vendor has their own style, and it’s important to choose one that matches your vision.
We recommend meeting them in person or virtually—the connection is key! You need to feel 100% comfortable and trust them to be part of such an intimate event.
Finally, carefully review contracts—to avoid any bad surprises (cancellations, extra fees, time restrictions…).
But our best advice? Trust your instincts! Just like with your wedding guests, you only want people who truly make you feel good on your big day!
